The corner and side tiles are L shaped so that the corner and side grout line is eliminated, these tiles are installed first and cut so that full length tile meet perfectly rather than having remaining areas. L tiles for the side and back to back L shaped tiles for corners.

The image shows the elimination of the grout edge, the production should be full width, to create the skirt and tile floor. The installer can cut these edge tiles to a size to then facilitate full length tiles fitting the reaminder areas. An installer plans the layout and finds the area conflicts with the tile size, this is potentially eliminated.
