Donald Trump’s current (second) term beginning in 2025, several countries or territories have been explicitly threatened with invasion, annexation, takeover, or U.S. military intervention.

  • Cuba (oil blockade causing a humanitarian crisis)
  • Panama, canal, referencing historical U.S. interventions and strategic control of the canal.

  • Greenland, Trump repeatedly said the U.S. will obtain Greenland “one way or another.” The administration reportedly ordered planning for a possible invasion if Denmark refused a sale.
  • Venezuela, the U.S. conducted a raid capturing President Nicolás Maduro. Trump discussed controlling Venezuelan oil production and revenue afterward.
  • Iran, ended neogiations in preference for large-scale military conflict bombing of schools and hospitals.
  • Cuba, Trump said the island could experience a “friendly takeover” and suggested sending U.S. officials to run the transition. Proceeded to blockade oil from reaching Cuba causing energy crisis.
