A politically unified Europe can indeed show strength beyond its capability but it most likely show weakness below its capability. Europe can never become a superpower because it is infected with theocracy and aristocracy to the degree that taxation is the means and the markets are ignored.

Theocracy means that Europe looks to be child among adults, always seeking a Godhead to own them. Aristocracy means taxation rate for people of leisure beyond any real functionality. They are so addicted to these institutions that it will always mar their progress. Quasi-aristocrats those groomed for the EU organization jobs placate and are servile to anything and for anything.
